It is class change time Center wide. The children that will be changing classes will transition the week of August 16 and move up on August 23rd. Transition notes will be given to those children that will be changing classes and new class lists will be posted in each classroom. BACK TO SCHOOL
It’s that time of year again, when we are getting ready for back to school. We have had a great Summer with all the JKCDC children and now it is time to prepare for the new school year. If your child will be leaving John Knox for the 2010/2011 school year please be sure to notify the office in writing and remember a two week notice is required.
For children attending Tulsa Public Schools the start date this year is August 23, 2010. For children attending Patrick Henry and Eliot, hours are 7:55am to 2:45pm and for those attending Eisenhower, hours are 8:15am to 3:05pm. John Knox will transport both to and from Patrick Henry and Eliot and will also pick up after school at Eisenhower this year.
If your child will be riding the JKCDC bus to school in the morning they must be at John Knox ready to go no later than 7:15am. We cannot wait for late arrivals. We also ask that if your child will not be riding the JKCDC bus after school you call the Center by 10:00am. Failure to call will result in a $5.00 charge. It is important that we stay on schedule with our bus runs so we may get the children to John Knox in a safe and timely manner. This becomes difficult when we are not informed of an absence.

PARENT ASSOCIATION MEETING
THE SCHOOL NEEDS YOU
THE TEACHERS NEED YOU
THE KIDS NEED YOU
The annual Parent Association Board Election meeting will be Wednesday, August 11, 2010 at 5:30pm in the JKCDC gym. Dinner and childcare will be provided. We strongly encourage all parents to attend this meeting and get involved in the Parent Association. If you would like to serve as an officer there are several positions that will be available or if you would just like to attend meetings, gather information, volunteer for special events, etc. that would also be a great benefit to the center. This is your opportunity to really get involved with your child’s school and a great way to meet other parents and make positive connections. When you attend meetings regularly you help to shape and influence the way your kids spend their day. The curriculum, the tools for learning, the food they eat, and the kind and well-trained teachers who enrich their day are discussed and supported by the Parent Association. If those reasons are not enough to get you here, the Parent Association is also sponsoring a drawing for a one time tuition discount voucher. Hope to see you their. Please sign up in the office if you plan to attend so we have a good count for the dinner and childcare.
